Soon to be updated…
Do you ever struggle to feel beautiful?
Have there been times you found it hard to surrender fully into pleasure, even though you wanted to?
Are you tired of the how fake this world is and long for authentic sisterhood?
The truth is, all women struggle with these things.
We’re all on a journey.
And I am too.
For years I didn’t feel comfortable with my body.
There was always something I wanted to change about it. And even when I liked my looks, I could always find something to criticize.
With partners, I found it difficult to surrender fully into pleasure.
To be seen in my pleasure felt vulnerable.
And all around me, the world seemed to say I should focus on *their* pleasure, not my own.
I also never had a place to talk about these real issues.
I never had a place to share both the immense joys of being a sexual woman, or the pitfalls.
I longed for sisterhood with other women, and to talk openly about my sexuality and body, but all the women around me seemed to be locked in competition instead.
Then I discovered a work that helped me overcome body image issues, pleasure anxiety and step into my full power, Radical Self-Love and AUTHENTIC sisterhood.
That work is called Bodysex.
Bodysex is for all women at all stages of growth in their sexuality, body and pleasure and all walks of life.
This May I invite you to go on a journey with me in a sacred circle of women, to explore deeply the experience of being a woman, to celebrate our bodies as they authentically are, and to forge deep sisterhood with other women.
Bodysex is happening:
May 14-15th, 2016
At a private, beautiful space in Boulder, CO
What is Bodysex?
Bodysex is a transformative workshop for women only. Bodysex is done in the nude, but is non-sexual. It is a sacred circle and is a unique and powerful opportunity to share with other women, what it is like to be a *real* woman, not a cardboard cosmo model.
Together we go on a journey to discover our own beauty, power and uniqueness – and in that journey, come together deeply as sisters. We celebrate our bodies, pleasure and orgasm, and share honestly about times we haven’t felt so sure of ourselves or our pleasure. It’s healing and empowering.
I was trained by Betty Dodson, world renowned sex educator and orgasm expert, to lead Bodysex workshops and am beyond excited to be pioneering this powerful work in the world.
She is an amazing leader in the field of sexuality and I am extremely honored to be her student and carry on the powerful work of Bodysex.
Bodysex is very unique from other workshops for women. Instead of theory, it is rooted in experiencing the empowerment journey. Instead of just *talking* about healing, change and empowerment, you get to experience it in your own body, heart and mind.
The other big thing that sets Bodysex apart from other sexuality workshops, is most workshops and teachings are focused on pleasure with another person.
Bodysex is about pleasure for YOU and you alone. And from that foundation, our capacity for pleasure with others expands profoundly.
You would greatly benefit from Bodysex if you want to:
- Overcome pleasure anxiety
- Deepen your relationship with self
- Increase sensation and pleasure
- Heighten orgasm
- Heal body image
- Experience true sisterhood, beyond competition
- Get real and stop sugar coating everything
- Step into your full power as a woman
- Feel fully accepted in your body and sexuality
- Learn a new kind of orgasm, or learn how to have your first
In the workshop we experience loving our bodies fully, open to more pleasure in our orgasm and lives and bond in sisterhood through experience rather than theory. And it’s all done in a safe and deeply supportive environment.
We experience:
- A safe space to talk openly about our body and pleasure in the circle
- A sacred ritual of honoring the beauty of each of our own vulvas (vaginas)
- Learning and practicing self-pleasure techniques to welcome more pleasure
- Sisterhood bonding experiences
One of my favorite things and why I can confidently bring Bodysex to you, is that the Sisterhood and Safety created in the space allows us to grow in these areas in a way that is wholesome and incredibly healing.
From watching the transformation in myself and many other women, one thing I can confidently say is Bodysex is not for everyone. It is not for those who want to stay where they are and not grow. Bodysex is powerful and women walk away transformed. Their lives are changed on the emotional, physical and spiritual level. If you don’t want your life to change or to open and share authentically in the circle, then Bodysex is not for you.
Common questions:
What if I’m on my period?
That’s absolutely ok! Every workshop someone is on their period, and it might be me as well. Many women will use tampons or you can use a natural sea sponge tampon, diva cup OR simply an extra towel or two under you as protection. Let me know if you need anything like that and I will be more than happy to accommodate.
What if I have a yeast infection?
No big deal. You could take some oil of oregano in water before you head over to the workshop and you can bring it with you to take throughout the day, as one idea. It’s a powerful natural anti-microbial and knocks it down fast. If you need pain and irritation relief, any drug store carries great over-the-counter medication that helps with that. If you have any questions or concerns before the workshop, reach out to me and I’ll help.
What if I can’t orgasm?
The second day we learn about and practice self-pleasure techniques during a free-form time called Erotic Recess. There are no goals or requirements other than to give pleasuring yourself a go. No need to worry if you can orgasm or not, or even if you have never had one before. My orgasm can be shy at times too. This time is all about pleasure, and with yourself – not performance. Some women who have never had orgasms have their first one in the workshop.
Where can I stay if I’m traveling?
www.airbnb.com has many options and then there is also www.couchsurfing.org .
Boulder is a short bus ride from the Denver International Airport. If you have any questions or further concerns, don’t hesitate to ask.
Where is the workshop being held?
I email or message everyone with the location when they’ve registered and it’s a week or two out.
Is Bodysex for women who can’t have sex or penetration is painful/uncomfortable?
Being a woman myself who once struggled with pain during sex, if I had attended Bodysex during that time, I know it would have helped me a lot. If you cannot or don’t want to use anything internally when we explore masturbation the second day of the workshop, that is fine. The only requirement is to explore externally around the vulva and clitoris.
My own Bodysex transformation:
When I attended my first Bodysex workshop a few years ago, I was struck by the power of this work and the broad effect it had on my life. I left the workshop with a new sense of my own beauty as a sexual woman and in awe of the beauty of all other human creatures. Bodysex helped me overcome a lot of shame about being ‘too skinny’ as well as my fear the other women there would not be able to accept me for it. After the workshop, I went home feeling empowered to ask for what I want with my partner and had my first big clitoral orgasm with him. For years that had been something I had only been able to do on my own and both the practical learning as well as the work helping me overcome pleasure anxiety opened me up to more pleasure with my partner.
The sense of awe for my own body, it’s beauty, power and uniqueness, as well as the empowerment in my pleasure and orgasm, rippled into the rest of my life to help me show up more fully how *I* wanted to. The other Bodysex workshops I took following that one built upon and continued my growth into liberated self-acceptance, love and freedom. It was so healing for me that when I experienced it, I knew right away it was something I wanted to bring home to offer to my community.
The funny thing is, before my first Bodysex, I would have told you I didn’t really need to improve on my body image and that I had it pretty figured out sexually. But even with all the growth I had done, being in the group unlocked a whole new layer of healing, pleasure and empowerment. That was a beautiful experience and why I say it is for all who are willing.
This work was so transformative for me, I took the first opportunity offered to train as a Bodysex Facilitator.
Bodysex is really empowering and I know will change the lives of all the women who choose to go on this journey. I have seen it happen for myself and the women I have been in Bodysex workshops with already. If you feel inspired and that urge to say “yes”, I would invite you to join us in the circle this May. It’s going to be beautiful, powerful and very very fun!
Also, if you find the workshop is not transformative for you, I will give you your full money back. Guaranteed. I want everyone to be happy and get what they need out of the experience.
Space is limited to 8 and the workshop is over half-full so reach out or register soon if you want to join us in the circle. Cost is a sliding scale of $250-400 and includes a hand painted personalized vulva portrait by the local cunt-positive artist Abrean SophiaMarie. Here is her instagram.
This is an amazing savings compared to what a Bodysex workshop costs if you were to travel to New York and take it with Betty D. Travel costs aside, the workshop costs $1,200 alone. You only need to pay the sliding scale however
Also if you are in financial need, I have hardship and single parent scholarships. Just reach out to me to inquire.
You can register by filling out the form below.
If you have questions about Bodysex, PLEASE feel free to reach out to me. My email is: julia@juliaemerald.com and I would be more than happy to hop on the phone or skype with you to talk about Bodysex.
